This piece was created from personal experience and reflects the reality of being close to someone who is consumed by their own reflection. From the outside narcissism can look like confidence charm and control. It can feel convincing and even safe at first. Over time that surface begins to shift and what once felt like connection becomes something much more one sided. This image represents that truth. The figure is not sharing intimacy with another person. It is absorbed in itself. Kissing its own reflection as if nothing else exists beyond what it sees. This is not love. It is self fixation. It is the inability to see another person as separate or equal. The reflection becomes everything. The other person becomes secondary. Their thoughts their feelings and their identity slowly reduced to something that only exists in relation to the narcissist. Being in that space can feel confusing. You begin to question your own perception. You begin to shrink in ways that are difficult to notice at first. What is given is never real connection. It is control disguised as closeness. Attention that comes and goes depending on what serves them. This piece is about that imbalance. It is about what it feels like to be present with someone who is never truly present with you.
