Dark Side Of Gluttony (Seven Deadly Sins)

This biro pen drawing is my representation of gluttony, not simply as overconsumption, but as a hunger that never quiets. It is the urge to take in more than the body or mind can hold, until fullness becomes distortion.

The form appears stretched and fragmented, as though it has consumed beyond its limits. Features begin to repeat, distort, and multiply, losing clarity as excess takes over. What was once whole becomes overwhelmed, identity dissolving into accumulation.

The mouth, often central in gluttony, is no longer just a place of intake but of need. It suggests a cycle that cannot be completed, where satisfaction is always just out of reach. The more that is taken in, the less it seems to fulfill.

The flowing warped lines reflect imbalance, a body and mind pushed beyond their natural boundaries. There is no control here only continuation. Consumption without pause, without reflection.

This piece is not about indulgence alone, but about the emptiness that drives it. The kind of hunger that is not physical but emotional, psychological, something deeper that cannot be filled by what is taken in.

This is a reflection of that endless cycle where having more does not bring peace only the need for more.
