It doesn’t always look like danger, sometimes it looks like silence. Like someone is holding everything together while falling apart internally.

This piece reflects suicide through the weight of intrusive thoughts, the kind that repeat, distort and slowly convince you of things that are not true. The words surrounding the figure are not the truth, they are the mind at its darkest, elentless, invasive and exhausting. Telling you to give up, to disappear, to believe you are not enough. But those thoughts are not you.

They are noise, they are pain and they are something passing through even when they feel permanent. The figure exists within that pressure, not as weakness but as someone trying to endure something overwhelming and often invisible to others. From the outside it is not always obvious. Many people carry this weight quietly, without it ever being fully seen or understood.

This piece is deeply personal.

I have lost people to this and that loss does not fade. It stays in ways that are difficult to put into words. That is why this work exists, not to glorify the darkness but to confront it and to create space for honesty around something that is too often hidden.

At its core this piece is about separation.

Separating who you are from what your mind is telling you in its darkest moments. Recognising that those thoughts no matter how convincing, do not define your worth. You are worthy, you are enough.

Even when your mind tells you otherwise.

Suicide is not the answer, even when it feels like the only escape in that moment. There is more beyond the darkness even if you cannot see it yet. Sometimes staying is the strongest thing you can do.
